Air Astana carries out voluntary weighing of passengers

Air Astana passengers over 18 travelling on domestic and international flights from Almaty and Nur Sultan are being offered voluntary pre-flight weighing between 9th and 31st August 2021.

Air Astana passengers over 18 travelling on domestic and international flights from Almaty and Nur Sultan are being offered voluntary pre-flight weighing between 9th and 31st August 2021.

Passenger weighing will be offered after check-in, with the process not collecting any other confidential personal information. Passengers who volunteer to undertake the weighing process will receive a gift from Air Astana. The weighing process is conducted solely for the purpose of improving flight safety and will not affect airfares in any way.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) rules govern the pre-flight weighing of passengers in order to collect statistics to establish the balance of aircraft and is carried out by member airlines every five years.
