Air Astana's leadership of E-commerce development in Kazakhstan has resulted in the airline receiving the "E-commerce Market Driver" award at a ceremony marking 20 years of internet service in the country. These prestigious awards were given to companies and agencies that had made a major contribution to the development of the domestic Internet and e-commerce during that time. Air Astan’s total revenue of $87.4 million for 2013 places it by far the biggest source of e-commerce in Kazakhstan. Air Astana received the award up against competing nominations from Chocolife.me, BeSmart.kz - coupon services and Lamoda.kz, the online shop, train tickets selling, traffic fine payment service of the national E-gov.kz portal. The event was organized by the Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan, the Association of Internet Business and Mobile Commerce of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Association of ITcompanies and LLP "Kazcontent."
