Air Astana takes delivery of second Embraer E190-E2
Air Astana has taken delivery of the second of five new generation Embraer E190-E2 aircraft covered under a leasing agreement signed with Aercap in 2017.
12 March 2019 - Air Astana has taken delivery of the second of five new generation Embraer E190-E2 aircraft covered under a leasing agreement signed with Aercap in 2017. The remaining three aircraft are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2019. The Embraer E190-E2 aircraft will gradually replace older Embraer E190s in the fleet.
Air Astana operates the Embraer E190-E2 airliner on domestic services across Kazakhstan, as well as to destinations in Russia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Ukraine and China. The first commercial service for the newest aircraft will on the Almaty-Uralsk domestic route on the 31st March 2019.
The first E2 aircraft was delivered to Air Astana in December 2018 and featured a special Snow Leopard livery.
About Embraer E190-E2
The Embraer E190-E2 belongs to a family of twin-engine, single aisle airliners offering a maximum range of up to 5,300 km, which is 1,000 km more than the E190. The aircraft has improved aerodynamics, redesigned fuselage and wings and new Pratt & Whitney Geared Turbofan engines.
The aircraft is fitted with 108 seats in a four abreast / two-by-two layout which provides more legroom and additional luggage storage space. E2 has a wireless entertainment system, which enables passengers to watch movies and listen to music from their personal devices.
