Air Astana Group's strategy is to deliver profitable growth as one of the leading carriers in Central Asia and the Caucasus, using our experience and connectivity to extend our coverage in the international market and further develop our cargo capabilities, while boosting our regional operations and those in Kazakhstan’s underserved domestic market.
We are uniquely set up to capture significant growth and to offer Air Astana passengers high quality from a low-cost base, while servicing more price-sensitive domestic passengers through FlyArystan, the first truly low-cost carrier in Central Asia.
Kazakhstan sits at the crossroads of Eurasia, straddling burgeoning markets such as Europe, the Middle East, India and China. International long-haul routes

Regional routes
Air Astana is a cost-effective, full-service carrier that operates from a unique location that connects growth markets in Asia, Europe & the CIS.
Domestic routes
Air Astana is rapidly stimulating a domestic market that resides in the world’s largest land-locked country where propensity to travel by air is growing rapidly.
Charter routes
Our flexible business model and nimble operations enable us to rapidly deploy charter flights to in-demand destinations. This has been critical in our ability to maximise recovery as routes have opened following the Covid-19 pandemic.
FlyArystan
We are enabling a large proportion of Kazakh citizens that have never flown domestically before to take to the skies. Our Low cost-carrier is increasing the propensity to fly among a cost-conscious audience in increasingly high volumes.

Growth
We expect long-term demand for international air traffic to recover and grow rapidly, with some of the markets that immediately surround Kazakhstan poised to emerge as the largest markets in the world. We intend to increase international connections between neighboring destinations by increasing the size of our operations. We have also launched FlyArystan to stimulate the domestic passenger market in Kazakhstan, which has become one of the fastest growing in the world as a result. Ambitious plans are in place to increase FlyArystan’s fleet to 34 aircraft by 2028. Plans are underway to substantially grow the fleet to service new and existing routes, leveraging both our low-cost structure and the position of our two major hubs at the centre of the world’s largest growth markets.
Efficiency
Maintaining Air Astana’s high levels of operational efficiency is a core strategic priority. This contributes to Air Astana’s unique ability to offer enhanced levels of service from one of the lowest cost bases in the world. At an operational level, we look to further increase efficiency by focusing on improving productivity, embracing new technologies and increasing employee engagements at all levels to become a modernising force in the Kazakh aviation market. Our human resources function plays a key role in contributing to our high levels of operational efficiency, both in terms of recruiting the best candidates, training them at our own training centre as well as sponsoring the education of potential leaders. Excellence in efficiency is maintained by the Company through rapidly increasing levels of employee engagement. As staff become more engaged, we play more to our core values and strengths to maximise efficiency.
